How It Happened
Aaron Rai won his first major championship at 9-under 271, closing with a 5-under 65 and playing his final 10 holes in 6-under to pull three clear of Jon Rahm and Alex Smalley at Aronimink Golf Club.
The 31-year-old became the first Englishman to lift the Wanamaker Trophy since Jim Barnes in 1919, ending a 107-year drought, and the first English major champion since Danny Willett at the 2016 Masters.
