How It Happened
Scottie Scheffler won in a walk at Quail Hollow, finishing at 11-under 273 — five strokes clear of Davis Riley, Harris English and Bryson DeChambeau — to claim his first Wanamaker Trophy and third career major.
The win answered the last real question about Scheffler's major résumé: he could dominate away from Augusta. It kicked off a historic summer in which he added the Open Championship at Royal Portrush two months later.
Key Facts
- Scheffler's third major championship and his first outside the Masters
